Uprooted and Rising:

“Uprooted & Rising aims to create a culture shift through public action, digital organizing, and creative storytelling that uplifts and centers the ideas and experiences of those who have been marginalized by corporate control and white supremacy in our food system. The movement includes students, workers, faculty, food producers, and community members that institutions of higher education are meant to serve.”

CalYouthVsBigOil

Bringing together youth climate activists and environmental justice organizers from across the state, California Youth Versus Big Oil (CA YVBO) is a California-wide campaign made up of a diverse coalition of young people with different stakes, backgrounds, and identities, but sharing a common goal:  Protect public health and our climate future by persuading Governor Newsom to rapidly and justly transition California away from fossil fuel production. The coalition meets over Zoom every other Tuesday at 7pm and is always welcoming new members into the campaign. Tuesday calls are a great place for members to learn more about the campaign, share ideas about tactics and strategy, organize statewide actions, and discuss local priorities with allies across the state. This Tuesday’s call will focus on brainstorming an upcoming strategy workshop as well as sharing out updates from around the state on local and California-wide youth-led fights against Big Oil.
